Results of Hole Drilling Accuracy Measurement by Manual Work [Technical Document]
We evaluated the processing accuracy of manual work using a disk glider!
This document describes our company's technology for drilling circular holes in FRP flat plates using a standard hole saw and a disk grinder (disk sander) that causes minimal damage to FRP. It includes quantitative evaluations of roundness and hole positioning accuracy using a CMM (coordinate measuring machine). As a result, both roundness and center position accuracy were superior with the hole saw; however, when processed with the hole saw, multiple instances of FRP delamination were confirmed on the machined surface. We believe we have demonstrated one of the quantitative indicators for setting machining tolerances.
